No — the shade is solid opal glass, which is opaque white glass that fully conceals the bulb. When lit, the entire surface of the shade glows evenly as a warm, lantern-like form. There is no visible bulb shape, filament, or hot spot. This is one of the key qualities of opal glass over clear glass — the light is completely uniform and calm across the surface. How many do I need for a dining table? At ∅ 15 cm, a single pendant provides accent light for a small surface — bedside table, kitchen worktop, or small round café table. For a standard 4–6 seat dining table: three Funnel pendants in a row at even spacing (approximately 50 cm apart), with the lowest point at 70–80 cm above the table surface, creates the ideal composition. For a longer table or kitchen island, four or five in a row at the same drop height creates a refined hospitality-style installation. Does the brass finish tarnish or change over time? The Funnel uses a brushed brass finish which has a natural warm gold tone. Real brass will develop a subtle patina over time with exposure to air and humidity — slightly deeper and less uniform than when new. Many customers prefer the aged character that develops over years of use. If you prefer to maintain the original finish, wipe the brass parts occasionally with a dry microfibre cloth.
