It pairs with the lamp's built-in receiver — press and hold the dim button to step through brightness levels, or press the on/off button. Unlike Wi-Fi smart bulbs, it doesn't need an app, hub, or network — pure radio frequency, works out of the box. Range is roughly 30 ft line-of-sight. The inline cord switch also works as a simple on/off override. How bright is 10W? The 10W integrated LED produces roughly 700–900 lumens — comparable to a 60W incandescent. The light spreads from the entire vertical rod (not a point source), giving even bedside or desk task lighting. Dim down for ambient/mood lighting, full brightness for focused tasks. At 6000K (Cool) the light reads brightest; at 3000K (Warm) slightly softer but more relaxing for evening use. Will it stay stable on a small surface? Yes — the 6.6 lb weight is concentrated in the round flat base (~ 5.9″ diameter), giving a low center of gravity. Stable on bedside tables, desks, console tables, and side tables.
